Haruna Iddrisu Endorses STEM Mini Lab Project to Improve Practical Learning in Ghana

The Minister for Education, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu, has welcomed an innovative technology designed to strengthen Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education in Ghana, describing it as a practical solution that can simplify teaching and improve learning outcomes in schools.

The Minister made the remarks during a presentation by 3S Technology, in partnership with Coderina EdTech, on the STEM Education Mini Lab Project, also known as the Adwenpa Project. The initiative aims to improve practical STEM education in schools by providing learners with hands-on experiences that align with Ghana’s curriculum.

Minister Praises Innovation in STEM Education

What Is the Adwenpa STEM Mini Lab Project?

The Adwenpa Project is an innovative STEM education initiative developed by 3S Technology in partnership with Coderina EdTech.

The project consists of a self-contained Mini Lab equipped with more than 40 STEM learning modules that align with the Ghana Education curriculum.

Ministry Orders Technical Assessment of the Project

As part of the evaluation process, the Minister directed the Director of STEM Education at the Ghana Education Service (GES), Madam Olivia Serwaa Opare, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Centre for Distance Learning and Open Schooling (CENDLOS), Dr. Diyawu Mumin, to work closely with the project developers.

The assessment will compare the proposed Mini Lab Project with existing STEM learning resources currently available within Ghana’s education system.

The outcome is expected to help determine how the innovation can complement and strengthen ongoing STEM education initiatives.
