GTLE 2 Registration Opens August 1 for Level 400 Teacher Trainees and Resit Candidates

NTC has announced GTLE 2 registration dates, examination schedule, fees, and requirements for Level 400 teacher trainees and resit candidates. Register from August 1 to 21, 2026.


Accra, Ghana – The National Teaching Council (NTC) has announced the registration schedule, examination dates, and fees for the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE 2) for eligible Level 400 teacher trainees and resit candidates.

According to a notice shared by the Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana (TTAG) National Secretariat on July 24, 2026, registration for the examination will run from Saturday, August 1, 2026, to Friday, August 21, 2026, while the examinations are scheduled to take place from Monday, September 14, to Wednesday, September 16, 2026.

The NTC has emphasized that no extension will be granted after the registration deadline.

GTLE 2 Registration Dates

Eligible candidates are expected to complete their registration within the approved period.

  • Registration opens: August 1, 2026
  • Registration closes: August 21, 2026
  • Examination dates: September 14 to September 16, 2026

Approved GTLE 2 Registration Fees

The NTC has approved the following registration fees for the 2026 GTLE 2 examination:

Fresh Candidates

  • Three (3) papers: GH¢450.00
  • NTC Indexing Fee: GH¢50.00

Resit Candidates

  • One (1) paper: GH¢150.00
  • Two (2) papers: GH¢210.00
  • Three (3) papers: GH¢385.00

Important Registration Requirements

Candidates are advised to comply with all registration requirements before submitting their applications.

Applicants should:

  • Confirm their personal details on the NTC Indexing Portal before making payment.
  • Upload a recent passport-size photograph during registration. The uploaded photograph cannot be changed after submission.
  • Keep their PIN and Serial Number in a safe place, as these will be required to access examination results.
  • Complete registration before the deadline.

TTAG to Organise Orientation Sessions

TTAG announced that it will collaborate with the National Teaching Council to organise Zoom orientation sessions to guide candidates through the registration process and explain the examination procedures.

The orientation is expected to benefit all eligible Level 400 teacher trainees from the 49 public Colleges of Education as well as resit candidates preparing for the examination.

TTAG Encourages Early Registration

The Teacher Trainees’ Association of Ghana has encouraged all eligible candidates to register early and comply fully with the registration guidelines issued by the National Teaching Council to avoid last-minute challenges.
