The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the commencement of preparations for the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) school selection and placement process.
As part of the preparations, GES will conduct a nationwide training and sensitisation programme for Regional, Metropolitan, Municipal and District Education Directors to strengthen their understanding of the 2026 Selection Guidelines and Placement Procedures.
The exercise is expected to ensure effective supervision and coordination of the selection process across the country.

In a letter dated 6th July 2026 and signed by Mr. Prince C. Agyemang-Duah, Director of the Schools and Instructions Division (Secondary), GES stated that the training will provide education directors with detailed information on the procedures for the 2026 placement exercise.
The training programme will run from Wednesday, 15th July to Tuesday, 28th July 2026 at various Regional Education Offices nationwide.
