The Canadian Education Initiative in Ghana Inc (CEIG Inc.) is a grassroots charity that is improving the quality of education in Ghana, West Africa. We aim to advance the education of young children in the towns around Lake Bosomtwe (Ashanti Region, Ghana) by building and maintaining kindergarten and primary schools. There is a tremendous need to promote early childhood education in the Lake Bosomtwe district, where families rely on subsistence fishing and farming and do not always see value in literacy. Our efforts to improve the school classrooms and facilities emphasize the importance of an education. Through education, the next generation will be better informed and better equipped to prosper personally and economically.
