Get involved

DONATE!

CEIG Inc. does not function without the support of our donors. Every donation has helped in the purchase of building supplies and school equipment. A bag of cement is $9.30 CDN, which can form 35 bricks. A can of paint for one classroom costs $3.05 CDN. A loaf of bread is only $1.50 CDN. But, when your community is responsible for funding the construction of school classrooms, a salary of $40 per month selling fish in the Kumasi market is inadequate. Please consider joining our effort to bring a quality education to the children of the Bosomtwe District by donating today.

Raise Awareness

Raising awareness, not just funds, is another critical component to the success of our mission.  Volunteering our time at public speaking engagements in the communities of Ghana and in Canada is very important step to enabling communities to become involved and active in shaping our global society. We are happy to give speaking engagements at schools and community events to audiences of all ages. Please feel free to contact us by email for more information at info@educateghana.com.

Penpal Exchange

In the past, we have promoted a number of exchanges between the students of Lake Bosomtwe and Canada. In 2008, two of our board members visited a number of middle schools in Ontario and Manitoba to give presentations on the communities around Lake Bosomtwe, Ghana. Letters from students in Dompa middle school were delivered to Canadian students in a pen pal exchange. Students from both countries found common ground in past times, like soccer, and cultural differences such as, their favourite foods.

Volunteering Abroad

Currently, we do not accept volunteers, but we hope to in the future.
